Post Ten Lies and Three Truths HERE!



Hello All,
Please click the comments link below and post Ten Lies and Three Truths about the art work you have been creating and your modus operendi. The objective here is to carefully craft these lies. For example, to simply say "I never use red." is a really thin and poorly constructed lie. Sample fabrications can be found here.

    1. My artwork is durable and unbreakable.
    2. I work with realistic images.
    3. My artwork is a direct response to current political issues.
    4. My work is easy to ship and can be installed easily on different wall surfaces.
    5. I have a large range of color throughout my artwork.
    6. It is easy to look at my artwork and figure out how I made it.
    7. My art is made from cheap and inexpensive materials.
    8. My final works of art are large single paneled pieces.
    9. I only work two dimensionally.
    10. My artwork expands into many different mediums and is considered Mixed Media.

    1. My artwork is inspired by my current and past life.

    Lies about my artwork...
    1) My artwork has no concept.
    2) The mood of my artwork this past semester is very colorful and lighthearted.
    3) I always work from observation.
    3) My artwork is not personal.
    4) I always work in one medium.
    5) I work exclusively on canvas.
    6) My artwork is very small in scale.
    7) Realism is extremely important to me. It’s the only way I work.
    8) I started last semester with a clear plan of what I wanted to do, and the result was exactly what I’d expected it to be.
    9) I have no desire to continue personal narratives.
    10) I am a 3-D artist.

    Truths about my artwork...
    1) I get a sense of satisfaction when my artwork is aesthetically pleasing.
    2) I work from memory of past experiences.
    3) My artwork has given me a new perspective on my life.

    1. My work has nothing to do with the human figure.

    2. I use no line detail in my work.

    3. My artwork has to do a lot with the social, political and cultural issues.

    4. Some of my subject matter is about people's greed and their desires in life.

    5. I have done many installations.

    6. I am not a mixed media artist.

    7. I am strictly just a landscape painter.

    8. I do not sketch before I start a new piece.

    9. I have done many paintings of my pet bird named Chihuahua.

    10. I never reuse wood that has been worked on.



    3 Truths about my artwork...
    1. I find beauty in the way the human body moves.

    2. My favorite choice of medium is pencil.

    3. Every piece that I make I try to capture the emotion that the figure displays.

    8. My only medium of choice is oil paint.

    9. I have nothing to gain from doing a self portrait.

    1. I have discovered a lot about myself through my work.
